The Arkansas Futures Grant
Award Information:
Covers Tuition and Fees for Associate and Certificate Programs in STEM & Regional High Demand Focus.
Will be awarded to both Traditional and Non-Traditional Students, allows for part time students too.
Combines with other Financial Aid to cover Tuition and Fees. However this grant is “Last Dollar” and will pay only for tuition and fees not already covered by a student’s other scholarships and grants.
​Criteria:
Must have graduated from a Arkansas High School, Home School or have a GED (or) must have a high school diploma and lived in Arkansas for the last three years.
Must be enrolled in a STEM or Regional High Demand Credential Program.
Must Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid at https://fafsa.ed.gov/
Must not already hold an Associated Degree.
Application Process:
Students will Apply through the YOUuniversal System, will be awarded on a first come, first serve basis. Students apply at http://scholarships.adhe.edu/
How to Maintain the Grant
Student must:
Receive Monthly Mentoring
Complete 15 Hours of Community Services per Semester
Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress
Grant Ends after Five Semesters of Upon Completion of Associates Degree. Grant becomes a Loan if Student Does not Meet the Following Requirements after Completion:
Live in Arkansas for Three Years (and)
Work for Three years
NTI Tuition Waiver Scholarship
Students are encouraged to apply for the NTI Tuition Wavier Scholarship online through the NTI Student Services website. The Northwest Technical Institute Tuition Waiver Scholarship is awarded to selected full time diploma seeking students who are currently attending NTI or will be attending NTI for the 2017/2018 school year. Students are selected for the NTI Tuition Waiver by the NTI Scholarship Committee and are awarded for the fall and spring semesters. Students must meet the scholarship requirements listed below and complete this application by the scholarship deadlines. This scholarship is awarded for one semester, but can be extended if the student maintains a 2.5 grade point average and passes all classes in which he or she was enrolled in.
Requirements:
Student must be enrolled or will be enrolled full time at NTI in one of the 9 diploma programs. Student must have completed all admissions paperwork prior to submitting application. Students must complete all sections of the application.
Applications Deadlines:
Fall 2017 (Applications must be completed by June 1, 2017)
Spring 2018 (Applications must be completed by November 1, 2017)
Notification of Award:
Students who are selected to receive the NTI Tuition Waiver Scholarship will be notified by letter within three weeks after the application deadline.
NTI Instructor’s Tuition Scholarship
Each diploma program is eligible to select one NTI student to receive the NTI Instructor’s Tuition Scholarship each semester. The scholarship can be renewed at the discretion of the Department Chair.
NTI National (FFA) Tuition Scholarship
Each year Northwest Technical Institute awards the winner of the Ag Mechanics and Ag Electricity contest with the NTI National (FFA) Tuition Scholarship. The scholarship is good for the entire length of the diploma program that the student chooses, based on the student maintaining Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Every high school that participates in the National (FFA) contest that is held at NTI will receive a one-semester NTI National (FFA) Tuition Scholarship. This scholarship cannot be renewed.
NTI Skills Tuition Scholarship
Each year Northwest Technical Institute students attend the Skills USA Competition in Hot Springs, AR. The top three winners for each division will receive a one-semester NTI Skills Tuition Scholarship. (Note: There must be at least 6 participants in each division in order to receive the scholarship.)
NTI Family Tuition Scholarship
Immediate family members of full-time employees at Northwest Technical Institute who are interested in enrolling in any NTI diploma program classes are eligible to receive the NTI Family Tuition Scholarship. Immediate family members are defined as spouse, child, stepchild, and or adopted child. This scholarship will be renewed each semester and waives the cost of tuition for NTI diploma programs.
Arkansas Rehabilitation Services
This state agency provides funding to students with documented disabilities. For further information, contact the Department of Rehabilitation Services at 479-582-1286.
Home For Dinner
Recipients must be a veteran of the U.S. Military, or currently active duty, or member of the National Guard; have a minimum 2.0 GPA; be an Arkansas residents and willing to attend a Home for Dinner event. Scholarship are available for the fall and spring semesters. Contact the Student Services Advisor within the Student Services Office 479/751/8824 ex 244. Application Deadlines: August 1st for Fall; January 1st for Spring. Number of Awards: varies, Amount: $250
Nursing Student Loan Program
The Arkansas State Board of Nursing offers a loan program to Arkansas students who are enrolled full-time in an approved nursing education program. The loans may be changed into scholarship grants by working full-time as an LPN or RN in qualified employment in the State of Arkansas. Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund
This privately funded program provides financial support to single parents who live in Arkansas. Only Arkansas residents are eligible to apply. Application information is available in the NTI Financial Aid Office and at http://www.aspsf.org/scholarships/how-to-apply/
Veterans Affairs Educational Assistance Program
Monetary benefits are available to qualifying veterans and their dependents. To start the application process, contact the NTI veteran’s advisor at 479-751-8824, ext. 244 or visit http://www.benefits.va.gov/gibill/
Workforce Investment Act
This state program assists individuals who meet low income guidelines or who have lost employment due to a plant closing or reduction in work force.
